This project consists of constructing 3.1 miles of new trail, stockpiling gravel, and constructing a parking area in the Murphy Creek area west of Superior, MT, and along Road #69. Construction of the new trail will include clearing and grubbing, excavation and embankment to construct a 24” tread, and constructing rolling grade dips as necessary for drainage. Construction of Trail #735 begins at the junction with Southside Road #69 and Road #7857, approximately 4 miles west of Superior, MT (See Vicinity Map). Road #7857 is designated as permanently closed for vehicle traffic (“A” closure on the Lolo NF Travel Plan map). The Contractor will be provided a key to the locked gate for purposes of the contract. The centerline of Trail #735 is staked with 4’ lath and occasional 10” stakes, as well as orange flagging.
