This is a new requirement for Large airtanker services starting in 2023 to supplement existing airtanker contracts for aerial delivery of retardant in support of fire suppression nationwide. We anticipate utilizing a mulitple award task order contract for these services for the period of 2023-2032. Airtankers will be moved and stationed at bases throughout the Nation, as fire support is needed. Airtankers will be available for interagency use as outlined in cooperative agreements with Department of Interior Agencies and State Agencies. The USFS intends to compete and issue Exclusive Use (EU) and Call When Needed Task Orders to MATOC holders once awards are in place. We anticipate releasing the request for proposals on or about Oct 24th, 2022. The solicitation release will be delayed a week or two while final edits are accomplished. The new anticipated release date is on or about Nov 4. The Airtanker Services 2023 MATOC RFP (1202SA23R9001) has been posted. The proposal due date is currently set for 4PM (MST) on Jan 13, 2023. We would like receive questions concerning the RFP to be received by Dec 22. We hope to publish responses to questions the week of Jan 2, 2023. Proposals can be submitted electronically via e-mail or through an electronic drop box (Pinyon Box) specifically created for each interested vendor when requested through the Contracting Officer.
