Presolicitation Notice Mitchell Springs Stewardship, Escalante RD, Utah Project Description Description of Work - The purpose of the Mitchell Springs Stewardship Project is to complete the following projects involves commercial thinning of 353 acres of marked trees containing mostly ponderosa pine along with cutting and skidding small diameter 8-12.5" trees which are ponderosa pine within the sale area and associated road maintenance. Total wood volume of the project is 2,323 CCF of which 664 CCF is comprised of non-saw material which is 8-12.5" trees and 1,659 CCF is green sawtimber which is comprised of 1,636 CCF of ponderosa pine, 17 CCF of Douglas-fir, and 6 CCF of white fir. Required road maintenance requires the contractor to perform pre-haul maintenance, during-haul maintenance, and post-haul maintenance. Work includes Slide and Slump Repair, Ditch Cleaning, Surface Blading, Surface Repair, Drainage Structures, Roadway Vegetation, Miscellaneous Structures, waterbars and barriers. In addition to the road work, harvest, skidding and yarding of all small diameter trees throughout the 353 acres of the sale will also be required under this contract Project Location – Project is located in Township 34 South, Range 1 West, Sections 13, 14, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27. Garfield County, 13 miles northwest of Escalante, UT on FH 17. Anyone wishing to participate in this proposed procurement must obtain their copy from beta.sam. This requirement is being solicited as a Full and Open competition, in accordance with Forest Service Handbook (FSH) 2409.19, Chapter 60 at 63.13, and Agricultural Act of 2014, with the intent to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract. A single award will be made from the solicitation.
