Description of Work: Pre- and post-emergent application of Landmark XP or a comparable herbicide contingent upon FS approval for the control of medusahead (Taeniatherum caput-medusae), cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum), spotted knapweed (Centaurea maculosa), diffuse knapweed (Centaurea diffusa), Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense), scotch thistle (Onopordum acanthium), and hoary cress (Cardaria draba) using mechanized application methods. Contractor Responsibility: The Contractor shall provide everythig, including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. Project Location & Description Location: The project is located on the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest, Ruby Mountain Ranger District, approximately 40 miles south of Elko, NV off of Jiggs Highway, NV-228 S, in the south-central portion of Elko County. The project area incorporates two fire areas-the Corta and Cherry Fires-within each fire all roadsides and dozer lines were selected to be treated with a 50-foot buffer on each side, totaling 100 feet of treatment along each road and dozer line. 93 miles of road are located within the Corta Fire perimeter in addition to approximately 12 miles of dozer line, totaling 105 miles to be treated equaling 1,274 acres. 9 miles of road are located within the Cherry Fire perimeter in addition to approximately 3 miles of dozer line, totaling 12 miles to be treated equaling 300 acres.
