Region 1 IDIQ On Demand Type III Helicopter Services The intent of this solicitation and any resultant contract is to obtain services of a Type III helicopter fully operated by qualified personnel and equipped to meet the specifications for use in administration and protection of Public Lands, primarily for use in the management of National Forests in the Northern Region on an On Demand basis. The designated base is Coeur d Alene, ID and supports the Idaho Panhandle National Forest located in Region 1. Helicopters may be dispatched to other areas throughout the United States. During the Mandatory Performance Period and any extensions thereof, the aircraft will be made available within the timeframe required in the schedule of items. The Government shall retain operational control of the aircraft while performing under this contract. The Type III helicopters furnished will be used for project work such as transportation of cargo or personnel, seeding, wildlife surveys, and prescribed burn operations. Prescribed burn operations include such tasks as helitorch, plastic sphere dispenser, aerial reconnaissance of site conditions, transportation of supplies or personnel in support of the fuels program, bucket work directly related to a controlled prescribed burn, and post burn monitoring. This solicitation will be advertised as a total small business set aside. The contract period of performance will be for one base year with four renewable option periods.
