If you have questions or do not know how to find the solicitation notice, please contact the contracting officer at mari.meiners@usda.gov. ********************************** This is a presolicitation notice for the reconstruction of a portion of the Anan Wildlife Observatory Trail. Major work items include the demolition and removal/reuse of existing step-and-run boardwalk trail and other timber structures, various types of aggregate surfacing, concrete steps, boardwalk infill, installation of two bridges, solid rock removal, and miscellaneous work. It is expected that onsite work will not be permitted between June 15 and September 1, 2020 and 2021. The solicitation document will provide specifics on allowable time periods for work on site. Work must be complete by November 1, 2021. Anan Wildlife Observatory is located about 30 air miles southeast of Wrangell, AK at lat/long 56.183, 131.890. It is typically accessed by boat or float plane from Wrangell. The project site is very remote with no services or utilities nearby. Cell phone service is not available in the vicinity of the project site. The Anan Bay Cabin may be rented by the contractor under the same rules that apply to the general public. No camping at the project site outside the cabin is allowed. No dogs are allowed at the project site. The magnitude of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. The government will schedule a preproposal teleconference approximately one week after the solicitation is posted. This presolicitation includes draft documents for planning purposes.
