Flying Fish Creek Culvert Replacement on Zarembo Island This project is comprised of all required labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform the following work including but not limited to: Dewatering, excavation, rock excavation, installation of footings and superstructure, borrow material from nearby quarry for material, haul, reconstructing streambed and banks with instream rock structures, backfill, and soil erosion control. On National Forest System Road 52021 at milepost 1.12; remove and dispose the existing 14’x9’ multiplate pipe arch. Furnish and install a new 80’ long 14’x9’ multiplate pipe arch. Riprap the slope banks at the inlet and outlet of the new pipe and reconstruct the road prism to the existing road elevation. The work site is located on Zarembo Island. Take FSR 6590 from Roosevelt Harbor to FSR 52021. Turn right onto FSR 52021 for 1.12 miles. There are no facilities or services on Zarembo island, the nearest town is Wrangell, Alaska. The work site can be accessed via marine or air transportation.
