Quotes are due at the Forest Service, Alaska Regional Office by: 10:00 am Local Alaska time, 09/15/2020. Submit through email only. The Chugach National Forest has a requirement for a pre-engineered 120 foot span modular road bridge to be delivered to Hope, Alaska, located on the Seward Ranger District of the Chugach National Forest. Base Item Item 1: includes providing a pre-engineered modular road bridge. The bridge shall be an ACROW 700XS, or equal. To be considered “equal” the bridge shall, at a minimum, have the following salient characteristics (see FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal on page 10 of this RFQ): • 120-foot nominal, single span • 14-foot deck clear width between curbs/rails/trusses • 18” minimum height curbs or railing • A wearing surface shall be included • Capable of supporting AASHTO HL-93 Live Load in addition to structure dead load • Non-Fracture Critical as defined by USDOT FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards • Capable of being re-configured as two (2) separate 60-foot, single span bridges with the addition of Option Item components. • Capable of being erected without the aid of a crane • Live Load deflection shall be limited to L/400 or less Design drawings bearing the stamp of a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Alaska shall be provided by the bridge supplier. Erection drawings and instructions shall also be provided by the supplier within 60 days of award of the base item. Item 1 price shall include the cost to deliver (including off-loading) at the Delivery Location stated on page 3 of this solicitation. Option Item Item 2: includes providing additional pre-engineered modular bridge components necessary to re-configure the 120-foot bridge, in Item 1, into two (2) 60-foot bridges. This shall include any superstructure components or substructure components above the sills, such as bearings or other support structures that reside between the sills and the superstructure. Design drawings bearing the stamp of a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Alaska shall be provided by the bridge supplier. Erection drawings and instructions shall also be provided by the supplier within 60 days of award of the option. Item 2 price shall include the cost to deliver (including off-loading) at the Delivery Location stated on page 3 of this solicitation on page 3. Delivery Location Delivery Location: The materials shall be delivered to the bridge crossing location, which is approximately 0.5 miles down a private road that begins at milepost 3.60 of the Resurrection Creek Road in Hope, Alaska. The delivery location is at 60°52'55.51" N Latitude, 149°38'0.62" W Longitude. The delivery location is off a narrow, unimproved, single-lane, native-surfaced road. The delivery vehicle should be capable of navigating this type of road. A turn-around for a tractor-trailer exists just beyond the drop-off location.
