The USDA Forest Service, Alaska Region, Tongass National Forest requires road maintenance and bridge replacement activities on the Corner Bay road system of Chichagof Island near Sitka. The work involves, but is not limited to, removal of an old bridge, transportation and installation of new bridge components, and moving/hauling earthen materials. This work is subject to the Construction Wage Rate Requirements statute. The order of magnitude of this work is estimated to be between $25,000 and $100,000. This activity is subject to a Small Business set-aside, and is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13) through a Request for Quotes (RFQ). For more information, see the attached RFQ and associated documents. Quotes are due at 16:00 Local Alaska Time on 5/26/2020 in an email to jonathan.gellings@usda.gov. Any questions must be submitted to the same email. UPDATED 5/22/2020: Amendment 001 has been attached to this posting. It includes additional Option Items, applicable specifications, and related terms and conditions resulting from including Option Items. Further, it extends the quote due date from 5/26/2020 until 6/3/2020. See attachment for additional information. UPDATED 5/27/2020: New information is available about the bridge materials. A map showing the location of the Thorne Bay Sort Yard is attached. The width of the whole bridge is 18 feet; each half bridge width is 9 feet. The *approximate* weight of the whole bridge is ~110,000 to ~130,000 pounds (includes decking and guard rail materials); each *approximate* half bridge weight is ~55,000 to ~65,000 pounds (includes decking and guard rail materials). No formal Amendment is warranted for this information. UPDATED 6/8/2020: The fish timing window in Section C.12 has been reduced according to state requirements. Therefore, the solicitation has been Amended and the Period of Performance changed from 06/10/2020 - 09/30/2020 to 06/19/2020 - 09/30/2021, with quotes due by 6/12/2020 at 14:00 local Alaska time.
