The Forest Service anticipates the following requirements for the road-stream crossing structure replacement with Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) structures: Major work items include the purchase of materials needed to meet engineering specifications, removal of existing structure and all road fill, Potential need to use pumps to allow bypass flow of water so not working in active stream, placement of new structure (Culvert or bridge) based on engineering specifications, concrete work as necessary to meet engineering design specifications, replacing fill and road surfacing work to bring road back up to standards in engineering specifications. Special Consideration: Work will be limited by allowable in-stream operation limelines for anadromous fishes between June and September. Dates will vary based on fish species present. District Fisheries Biologist can provide information on site specific fish windows Contractors must be active in order to compete for this award. Response date will be added when solicitation is published. Magnitude of the project is between $100,000. and $250,000. Project is located on northern Prince of Wales island in the Marble Creek-Frontal Whale Passage watershed.
