Work will consist of locating, measuring and recording data from sample stands. Work will consist of locating, measuring and recording data from sample stands. Information shall be collected as outlined in the Government provided Common Stand Exam Field Guide for Region 6 unless specifically modified by this contract. The Common Stand Exam User Guide is available along with data recorder software at the following website: www.fs.fed.us/nrm/fsveg/index.shtml. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to conduct statistically sound stand examinations from which management determinations for the stands will be made. Collected data shall be submitted in electronic format. The electronic copy will be made using either ExamsPC software on the PC or EXAMS software on a personal data recorder (PDR). These files will then be delivered to the U.S.F.S. in a format compatible for uploading into the FSVEG System and the Oracle Data Base. Plant associations shall be identified by using the Forested Plant Associations of the Oregon East Cascades, USDA Forest Service, R6-NR-ECOL-TP-03-2007. A copy of this publication will be furnished to the contractor and is to be returned at the end of the contract. In the case of any question about species identification, Flora of the Pacific Northwest (1973), by C. Leo Hitchcock and Arthur Cronquist shall be the final authority. Most plant species in this contract will be those species found in the CSE Field Guide for Region 6. Insect and Disease identification will be limited to those agents, pests and diseases listed in the disturbance tables found in the Common Stand Exam Field Guide for Region 6 and the Field Guide to common Disease and Insect Pests of Oregon and Washington Conifersby Ellen Michaels Goheen,Elizabeth A. Willhite (2006) to be furnished by the Government and returned at the end of the contract.
