A 16x8 airboat is required for accessing remote marsh locations in South Louisiana to control nutria and feral swine populations. The boat must be constructed of aluminum or stainless steel to withstand the saltwater environment and be capable of moving over dry ground. Pre-delivery testing includes a minimum one-hour test run and multiple safety inspections. Delivery is to the USDA APHIS facility in Crowley, Louisiana, and the airboat must be completed within 90 days or less. Manufacturers must have experience with at least five Marine 6.6 LT engines.
