The purpose of this procurement is to acquire one hyperspectral imaging system for the engineering research program of the Sugarbeet and Bean Research Unit, which develops robotic harvesting and sensing systems for precision orchard assessment, harvest and postharvest quality evaluation of horticultural crops. This imaging system will be used for taking spectral images in the wavelengths of 400-1000 nm from fruit orchards for assessing maturity and quality. The system is also useful for assessing the growth condition of plants in fields and/or greenhouses.
