Background The USDA-ARS-PSWRU is seeking a replacement chopper head for their Wintersteiger Cibus S silage forage harvester machine. This unit is an integral part of the corn and other large stem plant data collection process. Without this unit productivity decreases and the quality of their data is compromised. 1.0 Specifications Description: A two row Kemper style chopper head that will mount to the front of a Wintersteiger Cibus S silage machine -Must be mounted to the Wintersteiger Cibus S harvester as part of the agreement -Must be a drum type chopper head similar to the Kemper -Must have a minimum 1.20 m - 1.25 m working width-Must be hydraulically driven by the Wintersteiger Cibus S harvester (Fimaks Big Drum 1250) Quantity: 1 Unit Type: Each Minimum Requirements: 2 row chopper head mounted to a Wintersteiger Cibus S harvester, Chop corn(maixe) and other stem-like plants for silage have a minimum 1.2 - 1.25 m working width, and be hydraulic driven. 2.0 Place of Delivery 1881 West Pine Grove Road Gate - F, Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa. 16865 The Contractor Shall: This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of USDA ARS market research. The Government does not intend to make an award based on responses to this inquiry. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources including any Small Businesses; HUBZone small business; service-disabled, veteran-owned small business; 8(a) small business; veteran-owned small business; woman-owned small business; or small disadvantaged businesses. Please state if you are a large business or a small business according to the NAICS code listed in this Sources Sought. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
