This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only as part of USDA ARS market research and does not itself constitute an RFQ. Background The USDA ARS National Cold-Water Marine Aquaculture Center’s Shellfish Genetics Lab (Kingston, RI) conducts genetic/genomic/cell and molecular biology research with the end goal of improved germplasm for the eastern oyster. This work requires standard equipment for sterilizing glassware, tubing, dissecting tools, culture media, etc. We need to procure an autoclave to meet our sterilization needs. Requirements Total unit dimensions must not exceed 31”x75”x48”. Internal chamber dimensions/volume no less than 21” x 21” x 38”; 9.7 cu ft.; 275 L. Manual single door configuration. Capable of running gravity, liquid, and low temperature cycles. Internal 30 kw, 480 V, 3PH carbon steel steam generator with automatic feed water pump and automatic blowdown. Standard water ejector method for air removal. Programmable logic control microprocessor with SVGA display. Touch screen user interface for cycle selection, cycle start, cycle monitoring, status, and alarm notifications. Onsite assembly, installation, start-up, and operator training sessions included. Maintenance and service handled by manufacturer rather than third-party.
