SCOPE OF CONTRACT The goal of this project is to demolish and remove three cabins and other associated ancillary structures near the cabins located on the property from National Forest System land. Area will need to be accessed by barge/other vessel (s) via the waters of Lake Superior where it can be landed directly in front of the cabins to reduce additional surrounding land impacts and to access the other cabin located further inland. Debris can then be transferred directly onto barge/vessel (s) over the short distance of the shoreline and disposed of on the mainland. These cabins and ancillary structures are located on the thumb of Grand Island National Recreation Area located one quarter mile north of Munsing, MI. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE May 01, 2024, through October 31, 2024. DEMOLITION AND RESTORATION The Contractor shall perform all demolition and restoration as necessary. Materials shall be staged at locations approved by the Government. Trees of merchantable value may be removed by others prior work beginning, Dispose of all refuse and waste materials in accordance with existing Federal, State and local laws. Keep and utilize this sensitive area near the shores of Lake Superior in a manner that is safe to the public and the environment. Keep the work area clean and free of unnecessary clutter. Restore the work area to as near the original condition as practicable. Restore access routes and equipment travel ways to their pre-work condition.
