This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. USDA’s Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) is seeking a requirement for a ZEISS licensed and factory certified personnel to provide onsite preventative maintenance for a LSM710 Zeiss Confocal Microscope located at 40550 Route 25 Orient Point, NY 11957. The LSM710 Zeiss Confocal Microscope is an essential part of operations to be able to take clear, precise pictures. The contractor shall provide One (1) preventative maintenance inspection per Service Agreement year where the microscope is calibrated. Lasers are tuned to specific degrees to allow for specimen imaging in a complex but fine-tuned way that allows optimum laser utilization. The preventative maintenance shall include all the parts, labor, travel for remedial repair, emergency repair, equipment, materials, tools, assembly, transportation and supervision for all maintenance services for the equipment listed. Emergency repairs are handled within one week from the ARS request for service due to the potential for loss of critical research materials, when/if the need arises, and telephone and email support for the laboratory equipment listed. The estimated period of performance is for one (1) base year and two (2) optional year periods. This Sources Sought is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of USDA’s market research. No Request for Quote (RFQ) exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the RFQ. Responses to this Sources Sought are not quotes on which USDA can issue any contract. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute an RFQ. The Government does not intend to award a contract or BPAs based only on responses to this Sources Sought. All information received in response to this Sources Sought marked "Proprietary" will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. In response to this source sought, please provide: 1. Name of the firm, point of contact, phone number, email address, DUNS number, CAGE code, a statement regarding small business status (including small business type(s)/certifications(s) such as SDB, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) and the corresponding NAICS code. 2. Information indicating personnel is a ZEISS licensed and factory certified personnel. 3. Identify whether your firm is interested in competing for this requirement. 4. Information in sufficient detail regarding previous experience on similar requirements. 5. Information to help determine if the service requirement is commercially available, including pricing information, basis for the pricing information (e.g., market pricing, catalog pricing), delivery schedules, customary terms and conditions, warranties, proprietary information, etc. 6. Recommendations to improve the approach/specifications to acquiring the identified items/services. Responses to the Sources Sought will not be returned.
