The overall objective of the proposed project is for a vendor to work with the African Union Commission’s Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment (AUC-DARBE) to address sanitary and phytosanitary systems (SPS)-related challenges and issues through the development of implementation modalities to support Member States to advance the SPS agenda. The specific objectives are 1) effective implementation of the African Union SPS policy framework, 2) create access to data and analytics on investment options and policy issues to address the challenges of food safety and SPS measures, and 3) facilitate dialogue, mutual learning, and cooperation among African countries for harmonized SPS policies and capacities. The required services include the ability to provide technical support to AUC-DARBE to enhance the SPS agenda among Regional Economic Communites and Member states, provide data and analytical support, as well as support learning, dialogue, and outreach in Africa. Successful project implementation within the AUC context will require buy-in only achievable through an African organization. The vendor must be able to integrate into the AUC culture.
