The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make the appropriate acquisition decision(s) and to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. The USDA-ARS, Rangeland Resources & Systems Research in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a source to provide RumiWatch Halters, a health monitoring system for ruminants, specifically needed for Holstein (cows) and Jersey (cows). The system consists of a halter, pedometer and evaluation software. It guarantees permanent and reliable monitoring of key parameters relevant to the health condition of each individual animal. These are needed to conduct research on livestock for detection and quantification indicative of grazing and ingestive behavior.
