THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. USDA/ARS/PWS intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with Pacific Immunology for continued rabbit antibody production. - Use of a custom adjuvant allows high antibody titers up to 1:500,000 against peptide sequences produced maximizing preferred IgG type antibodies over IgM with improved affinity purification, and also minimizing stress on the animals versus a standard adjuvant. They include two rabbits for each project increasing chances of success. - affinity purification of 25 ml of serum for each project delivering 2-3 mg of purified antibody specific to epitopes contained within the peptide at no additional charge. - synthesizes 40-50 mg of each peptide and uses 5-10 mg in development. The additional 30 mg of peptide that we will receive will be used for blocking studies, additional purifications, animal inoculations, etc. - Along with exsanguination bleeds approximately 400 ml of non-lyopholized serum for each project. The Sole Source Determination is based on 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can fully meet the government’s requirements may submit substantiating documentation in writing to the buyer via email brian.fien@usda.gov within 6 days after publication of this synopsis. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the government.
