The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Research and Development Division, intends to negotiate and award solely with Hexagon US Federal of 14291 Park Meadow Drive, Suite 350, Chantilly, Virginia 20151. Award will be made pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) and 41 USC 3304(a)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services with satisfy agency needs. The Period of Performance is for a one (1) year period, from the date of award. ERDAS Imagine Software is used to process satellite and aerial imagery and other types of vector data. It is also used to import/export data, subset, and re-project data and to classify data. Imagine is used to derive the NASS operational remote sensing Cropland Data Layer (CDL) program to produce acreage estimates in support of agency statistical programs. No other geospatial applications can perform the functions and features provided by Imagine with the accuracy, timeliness, and functionality required to produce the CDL. Imagine along with the bundled software application NLCD Toolkit provides operational efficiencies and functionality that no other application/package can perform or match. The required functionality includes processing of satellite imagery and ground reference datasets to perform supervised image classifications (i.e., CDL) for purposes of deriving acreage estimates. Intergraph is the sole manufacturer of Imagine licenses. Hexagon US Federal, Inc. is the sole authorized US reseller, GSA Schedule holder, distributer, and VAR of these products. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be constructed as a commitment by the Government. Potential sources who believe they can provide the services listed above are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contact based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
