Background: For the safety and protection of the Government and the Client, CSOSA is responsible for administering the Aplisol tuberculin skin test (TST), the accepted test for identifying Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (MTB) infection. Each person under the Agency's authority who is currently or has previously been convicted of a qualifying District of Columbia Offense must have a Tuberculin Units PPD serum injection from CSOSA. Data from these tests are also used for placement of offenders in programs. Historically, 270 +/- 10% offenders every month have had TB testing; however, this number is simply an estimate and subject to change.
