This is NOT a request for quote. This is a notice concerning Contract GS-07F-081DA, Task Order 9531CB22F0029, for the maintenance of security X-ray equipment by Smiths Detection pursuant to FAR 8.405-6, Limited Sources. The original approved LSJ, a notice of intent to award a GSA Task Order to Smiths Detection for one, (12) twelve month period and one, (12) twelve month option period based on a Limited Sources Justification for the following reason: Per FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B), only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized. This procurement action will result in the award of a GSA Task Order to Smiths Detection, 2202 Lakeside Blvd, Edgewood, MD, for Maintenance Services; specifically, for extended maintenance support for four (4) Heimann X-ray machines located at 1700 G Street. All of the units were purchased new from Smiths Detection as part of the Headquarters renovation project. The Government will not consider any quotes submitted as a result of this announcement.
