The CFTC intends to renew a sole-source contract with the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for its SmartBenefits transit system to manage employee transit benefits. The requirement relies on only-one-responsible-source authority because WMATA operates the Greater Washington DC area’s Metrorail/Metrobus systems and is the only regional program offering seamless multi-modal transit benefit management through a single interface.
