Conservation and Stabilization of the Plaster and Decorative Paint at the President’s Room Ceiling, United States Capitol Building
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is planning a procurement for professional conservation services to restore and stabilize the plaster ceiling and decorative paint in the President's Room (S-216) of the U.S. Capitol. The work involves designing and implementing a treatment plan to prevent the loss of historic plaster and frescoes. The services will be procured through a full and open, competitive source selection, with the award based on a tradeoff process and not necessarily on lowest price. The official Request for Proposal is anticipated to be posted in late March or early April 2026. The performance location is the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
