Justification and Approval (J&A) for other than full and open competition to issue a modification to the Educational Development Center Inc.(EDC) contract number AID-674-C-15-00002 to increase the Total Estimated Cost by $4,886,900 to $29,842,956 and extend the period of performance to December 31, 2021. EDC will continue to implement the School Based Sexuality and HIV prevention Activity in South Africa. The activity will support the South Africa's Department of Basic Education(DBE) to reduce new HIV infections in students and teachers by assisting the DBE to implement high quality evidence-informed sexuality and HIV prevention education programs, in support of the Government of South Africa's attainment of HIV epidemic control. With the increase of $4,886,900 EDC will continue to implement the HIV prevention activities amoung adolescent high risk group in South Africa, thus the objective remain the same. The increase and extension will enable EDC to cater for the expanded geographic coverage and meet the (COP) 2020 targets.
