The U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Information Technology Operations (ITO) Division is seeking market research information on its “Personal Computing and Desktop as a Service” (PCaaS) program. Understand the variety and range of technical solutions available for meeting USAID’s PCaaS requirements; Understand the best practices and critical success factors for a successful PCaaS contract; Understand the pricing models and contract types that are optimal for these various models; Understand the various mechanisms for disposition of existing Government PC assets and the advantages and disadvantages of each; Understand the various approaches, and the timing thereof, to replacing existing Government assets with Contractor-furnished devices; Understand the optimal methods for addressing tech refresh of the devices and how industry would approach tech refresh; Understand the performance metrics that will be most useful in evaluating Contractor performance under such a model; Understand the various transition options to a future Contractor; Evaluate industry interest in USAID’s PCaaS requirements and the types of businesses demonstrating this interest; Understand the capabilities of interested firms to deliver PCaaS on a global basis; and Understand the unique constraints and conditions in various global locations that will impact delivery and performance.
