The program for Southern Africa and its client missions includes the largest PEPFAR program in the world, development assistance programs including Education, Democracy and Governance, Environment and Economic Growth, Power and Prosper Africa and Health with a $2.5B in program funds under management, annual program operating year budget of $800M; and annual operating expense (OE) budget of $25M. The Mission is also the Alternative Service Provider for non-residential building operations located the U.S. Embassy Pretoria Annex with an annual working capital budget of $1M. USAID/Southern Africa’s Regional Financial Management Office (RFMO) provides financial analysis, accounting and voucher examination services to USAID/Southern Africa, Country Offices in Angola, Botswana, and Namibia and the non-presence countries of Lesotho and Eswatini. RFMO is also a service provider to the Power Africa Initiative (PATA), Prosper Africa and the USAID Office Of Inspector General – Africa Regional Office.
