In accordance with FAR 5.203, USAID/Zimbabwe intends to issue a solicitation for construction/installation services to install a Solar Photo Voltaic and Energy Storage System at several USAID owned residences in Harare, Zimbabwe. In 2022, USAID/Zimbabwe carried out an assessment to determine the cost and feasibility of implementing various climate adaptation projects such as rainwater harvesting, solar water heaters and pumps, and solar panels for power generation at several USAID-owned residential properties. This activity proposes to install solar panels for energy generation and an energy storage system to reduce and possibly eliminate the dependence on local power and diesel generator usage. This is not a Request for Proposal or Request for Information. USAID currently anticipates that the solicitation will be issued in late January or early February 2024. Please do not submit any documentation or any questions at this time. To be eligible for the award, offerors must be registered in SAM.gov and cannot be debarred, suspended, or proposed for debarment. USAID recommends that all interested parties begin their SAM.gov registration process now. This process is free of charge, but takes time and dedicated effort to complete. Waiting until the solicitation is released will likely be too late. This notice in no way obligates USAID/Zimbabwe to award a contract or pay for any actions taken as a result of this notice. All necessary information will be supplied at the time the solicitation is posted on sam.gov.
