Basic Function: The SMETA will serve as a member of the Health Systems Strengthening team in the USAID/Haiti Health Office. This team provides direction and technical support for program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) across the USAID/Haiti health portfolio. This position will specifically fill a role in M&E and the use of data for decision making. The incumbent will assist in developing strategies for improved monitoring and evaluation. The M&E aspects will include assisting with impact evaluations, supporting the development of a calendar of field monitoring visits, assisting the project and activity managers in following up on performance issues, and providing technical guidance on project Performance Management Plans. The SMETA will report to and receive direction from the Deputy Health Office Chief and will also work closely with the Health Office Chief, CDC and the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Coordinator.
