The United States Agency for International Development, Kyrgyz Republic (USAID/Kyrgyz Republic) intends to release a full and open Request for Proposals (RFP) for a five-year activity entitled "Improved Basic Education in the Kyrgyz Republic" with an estimated total value of $17.5 million - $19.5 million. The purpose of the Improved Basic Education in the Kyrgyz Republic activity is to improve early grade learning outcomes in the Kyrgyz Republic for 300,000 students in grades one through four, giving children a better foundation for educational achievement. Interventions to improve learning outcomes in reading and math should be evidence-based and likely to be effectively and sustainably implemented within the KR, with a special emphasis on bridging oral reading fluency to comprehension in reading. The overall performance objectives to reach this will include: ? Improved instructional quality in reading, numeracy, and math; ? Improved formal and non-formal learning environments; ? A strengthened education system for primary education.
