The USAID ECP contributes to USAID/Kyrgyz Republic’s Economic Growth Development Objective (DO) three, “Accelerated growth of a diversified and equitable economy,” and is implemented across the whole Kyrgyz Republic. The Contract has a Grants under Contract (GUC) component, which accounts for one-third of the award. With the proposed ceiling increase, seven new grantees will be financed, and it is expected that 515 new jobs will be created for women labor migrants returning from Russia as well as that sales will be increased by 20 percent targeting markets other than Russia and the PRC, such as the EU and the United States. The requested ceiling increase will help the private sector to create additional jobs to reduce migration flows to Russia. The estimated cost of this proposed expansion is $240,000, raising the total estimated cost for the award from $22,770,653 to $23,010,653. Under this action, ACDI/VOCA will issue grants to seven selected SMEs. The Contractor will conduct due diligence work, ensure compliance with USAID requirements, and develop technical grant specifications. The proposed extension is necessary to gain substantial cost savings to the U.S. Government.
