USAID is seeking feedback to inform a potential activity, Economic Foundations for a Resilient Armenia that will enhance Armenia’s economic security and ability to take advantage of periods of economic growth and navigate economic downturns. The activity will achieve this through three mutually reinforcing lines of effort that will aim to address underlying root causes rather than the symptoms that hinder Armenia’s progress in the area of economic governance. The first will provide comprehensive technical assistance to specific partners within the Government of Armenia (the government) that addresses both needed technical capabilities and institutional challenges. The second will work in the targeted sectors of tourism, agriculture, and high-tech to strengthen sector-level coordination and collaboration to enhance competitiveness. The third will identify and support the productive use of financial capital by Armenian businesses through catalytic investments in targeted sectors. Collectively, these approaches will strengthen Armenia’s capacity for economic stewardship and the competitiveness of the private sector.
