The Public Health Advisor serves as an advisor to the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia (E&E) on policy, programs, and issues pertaining to health systems, COVID-19, tuberculosis (TB), Immunization and/or other health challenges faced in the E&E region. S/he sits in the Technical Support Office (TSO) and reports to the Senior Health Advisor. The functions of the Bureau and Office are described in the USAID Automated Directives System (ADS) 101, Organization. The Regional Health Advisor is a source of technical advice to the Bureau and its field missions on health strategies and programs and is responsible for managing region-wide health programs in accordance with Bureau, Agency and State Department priorities and objectives. S/he represents the Bureau within the U.S. Government, as well as with external stakeholders, and provides expert advice and guidance, particularly on issues related to the impacts of the Russian re-invasion of Ukraine and recovery and reconstruction assistance.
