The LGBTQI+ Program Advisor will provide support to both Washington-based and, via temporary duty (TDY) to the USAID field Missions, as needed, to advance USAID’s LGBTQI+ research agenda, programmatic strategy, and technical support to USAID Operating Units in Washington, D.C. The Advisor will be responsible for coordinating programming work for the ID Hub’s LGBTQI+ team to support USAID Mission efforts and for coordinating training focused on LGBTQI+ topics and engagements with internal and external stakeholders and partners. Working closely with the LGBTQI+ Senior Advisor, the LGBTQI+ Program Advisor will support opportunities to advance USAID’s approach to addressing anti-LGBTQI+ violence, discrimination, stigma, and criminalization in developing countries; advance the human rights of LGBTQI+ people; integrate LGBTQI+ considerations into broader development programming; contribute to activities responding to such opportunities; and work with stakeholders to implement, monitor, and evaluate these activities. The duration of the contract period is anticipated to be one, two-year, base period with three optional one-year periods for a maximum duration of five years in total.
