This is a notice of intent to sole source a contract under the authority of FAR 6.303-2, only one source being available to meet the Government’s need. The contract will be for a one time buy. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a small busines size standard of 1000 employees. The FSC/PSC is 7195, Miscellaneous Furniture and Fixtures. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 21, NCO21 Honolulu, HI on behalf of VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Medical Center (VAPAHCS), wants to purchase a PATIENT LIFTING MOUNT. There are no other source of supply/service that will satisfy agency requirements. The PATIENT LIFTING MOUNT will be maintained at the: VA Palo Alto Nevada Health Care System Sierra Pacific VA Health Care Facility 3801 Miranda Avenue Palo Alto, CA 94304-1207, USA. PATIENT LIFTING CEILING MOUNT for the VA Stockton Outpatient Clinic, French Camp for the Palo Alto station is a stationary patient lifting device mounted on a rail system either permanently installed or as a freestanding lift that hydraulically lifts and transfers patients in a sling-seat between a bed and a chair, toilet or wheelchair. The VA Palo Alto Health Care System is seeking to purchase a PATIENT LIFTING MOUNT for the above listed items. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 due to the exclusive partnership of Alliant Healthcare and the OEM needed for this procurement. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based solely within the discretion of the Government.
