Sources Sought The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Small Business Manufacturers, other Small Businesses interested and capable of providing items requested. The intended contract is a firm-fixed price contract. A SBA Non-Manufacturer Rule Waiver will not apply if this requirement is set-aside for small business. It does apply to all other socioeconomic small business categories. The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO20 is looking for BRAND NAME or EQUAL sources of the following: FIPS Compliant Wireless Scanners Salient Characteristics Include 20 handheld scanners that are capable of reading VA bar codes and are FIPS 140-2 certified and have USB powered cradle to charge unit. Imager (scanner) 6.6 in. H x 2.6 in. W x 4.2 in. D16.8 cm. H x 6.6 cm. W x 10.7 cm. D Presentation Cradle: 2.9 in. H x 3.7 in. W x 4.8 in. D7.3 cm. H x 9.4 cm. W x 12.3 cm. D Support host interfaces: USB, RS232, Keyboard wedge, TGCS (IBM) 46XX, over RS4. Must have FIPS Security Certification: 140-2. Operating time full charge: greater than 60 hours. Imaging Graphics format: can exports Bitmap, JPEG or TIFF. Image quality 109 PPI on an A4 document. As such, the salient characteristics reflect the physical, functional, or performance characteristics that equal products must meet to satisfy the Government s needs. To be considered for any potential solicitation, offers of equal products, including equal products of the brand name manufacturer, must: (a) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this sources sought; clearly identify the item by Brand name, if any and make/model number.
