QUESTION: From my email on June 22, I requested a walk through, Please let me know if we can conduct a walkthrough of the facility this week or next to confirm device counts listed in your description. ANSWER: We are not providing the opportunity for a walk-through/site visit. This requirement is just for materials and software upgrades (commodities). No service such as installation is included in this requirement, the VA will install the parts and software. This is an upgrade to the pneumatic tube system, not to completely replace the current system. This is only an electronic board within each station. The majority of the station, which is embedded in the wall during construction will remain. We will be installing the software and hardware. We may have to collaborate with the vendor for the software install instructions, but our staff will be doing the actual install. QUESTION: If you could, we are requesting an extension be given for this bid to allow time to schedule a walk through. It seems that now this bid has opened up sourcing there should be more than (17) days for another company to respond. ANSWER: No extension will be provided to allow time for a walk-through, this requirement consists of upgrading the existing pneumatic tube system (PTS) software with a newer version compatible with hardware currently on station and on the market, not a replacement of the entire system. The Statement of Need in the solicitation states: .shall consist of upgrading the existing pneumatic tube system (PTS) software with a newer version compatible with hardware currently on the market All equipment and software must be compatible with existing equipment and software. These will be installed by the medical center at a later date. The vendor will supply the newer boards for the equipment for later installation at our own pace.  Basically, we are modernizing after the life cycle of our existing electronic boards is ending. QUESTION: Could ________ please perform a site visit tomorrow 7/22 or Monday 7/26 if an extension for this bid is not granted? ANSWER: A site visit is not required, we are purchasing the hardware and software and installing the equipment in house at our own pace.
