The following is a Sources Sought/Request for Information notice. This posted notice is not a Pre-Solicitation or Solicitation document. The government is not currently soliciting bids, quotes or proposals: however, reserves the right to do so at a later date. The Philadelphia VA Medical Center at 3600 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104, is currently seeking potential sources for a Brand Name or Equal comprehensive optometry biometer. The brand name for reference is the Carl Zeiss IOL Master 700 comprehensive system. Please review the salient characteristics below: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: ALL ITEMS MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE CARL ZEISS ECOSYSTEM, SPECIFICALLY THE ZEISS FORUM. Measurement technology and accuracy: Contactless Swept Source OCT Biometry Must be capable of providing axial length, keratometry, and central anterior chamber depth measurements. Corneal topography Must be capable of providing posterior and anterior corneal topography to enhance IOL calculations. IOL calculation and surgical planning capabilities: Must include integrated Barret Suite. Must include markless Tori IOL alignment. Must be capable of reducing the risk of refractive surprise. Workflow efficiency and data management: Automated biometry measurement: Must be capable of completing full biometry in under 1 minute for both eyes. Full length OCT image capture Must be capable of providing a comprehensive cornea-to-retina scan to detect potential measurement errors Automated data transfer: Must be capable of seamlessly integrating with ophthalmic data management systems already in place to eliminate manual data entry errors. The data management system in place is the ZEISS FORUM. Must be capable of transferring data via ZEISS FORUM into the biometry unit and vice versa. DICOM compatibility: Must be DICOM-compliant to interface with electronic medical record systems. Physical and Operational Requirements Must have a compact and ergonomical design. Must include patient positioning features. Adjustable chin rest. Head support for stable measurements. Must be compatible with standard U.S. electrical outlets. Must be FDA-approved for use in ophthalmic biometry and comply with ISO standards for medical devices.
