The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases Branch has a requirement to purchase a new real-time PCR instrument that must be capable of processing both 384-well and 96-well plates, not at the same time. The instrument should be modular, as the last one was, to allow for different blocks to be used as there’s no space for multiple machines. The 96-well block should be available in small-volume form (0.1ml, as opposed to the std. 0.2ml) and should have a ramp rate of at least 6.5°C/sec. In addition, the instrument should be both PC (Win10) and Mac compatible and have stand-alone capability.
