The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to West Virginia University for the on-site and technical statistician services. These services require the historical and statistical consultative understanding and service to researchers in the Field Studies Branch of the Division of Respiratory Disease Studies located within the West Virginia University Campus. The contract statistician is to be on-site, in a location determined by Field Studies Branch Technical Team Leader but located at the NIOSH Morgantown location, for 5 hours per week to provide statistical consultation to staff. The contract statistician should have exceptional command of complex statistical principles and methods and should be able to apply this knowledge using SAS (Statistical Analysis System) to applied research data. The statistician will provide PhD level statistical consulting support to a variety of projects being conducted within the Field Studies Branch. Work will be conducted at the direction of NIOSH project officers seeking assistance from the contract statistician. Data that will be managed and analyzed by the contractor is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act and Assurance of Confidentiality. Contractors are required to comply with these provis This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
