(“TESCAN”) for Preventative Maintenance Services. The Government intends to issue a sole source award in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements for the above stated service. TESCAN is the manufacturer of TESCAN MIRA-3 GMU Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). As such, supplies, accessories and parts required to service and/or upgrade the instrument can be obtained, installed, and guaranteed in the USA only from TESCAN USA Inc. Further, TESCAN is also sole source for proprietary software required to operate and/or upgrade the software in the MIRA SEM. No other vendor can provide maintenance and technical support for this system. This will be a firm fixed price award. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of information received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
