Notice of Intent to Sole Source- FDA-1242899- Tecan® Plate Reader The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to make a sole source award to Tecan US for a Microplate Reader and accessories. The supplies provided by Tecan US are required for continued use in the Southeast Food and Feed Laboratory (SFFL) located in, Atlanta GA. The supplies provided by Tecan US is a replacement plate reader for older obsolete Tecan model and the manufacturer no longer supports calibration of the instrument. To continue to meet quality standards, the Microbiology Branch must acquire a new microplate reader while maintaining equipment harmonization between FDA field labs that currently utilize Tecan plate readers which can be calibrated with a multi-check quality control test plate. The required equipment and part numbers are contained in the attached Notice of Intent to Sole source document. The FDA anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Contract for the supplies. The NAICS code for this action is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. This procurement is made under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and pursuant to FAR 6 – only one responsible source. This is a notice of intent to issue this solicitation on a sole source basis to Tecan US located at 9401 Globe Center Dr. Morrisiville, NC 27560. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify their interest and capability to provide these items by submitting a capability statement to Lisa Jackson at lisa.jackson@fda.hhs.gov no later than August 11, 2021. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed work based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The projected award date is August 15,2021
