W912PM20B0005 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide maintenance dredging of the Federal navigation channel reaches including Smith Island Channel, Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 1, and Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 2. The dredging shall be accomplished by hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Dredging depths are 44’ plus 2’ of allowable over depth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is approximately 1,490,000 cubic yards. The dredged material shall be placed on the beach at Bald Head Island. All beach work is to be completed during the established environmental window of 16 November through 30 April. The environmental window for dredging is 1 December through 15 April. The work will include shaping the beach fill and pre and post construction beach surveys. This solicitation is un-restricted. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. DUE TO THE GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID- 19 PANDEMIC, WE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING BIDS FOR THIS REQUIREMENT ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH DOD SAFE (HTTPS://SAFE.APPS.MIL/). MORE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE SUBMISSION OF BIDS ARE ATTACHED WITHIN THIS SOLICITATION. IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A BID THROUGH DOD SAFE, OFFERRORS ARE REQUIRED TO REQUEST A “REQUEST CODE” FROM THE CONTRACT SPECIALIST, AND/OR CONTRACTING OFFICER. DUE TO THE GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE PUBLIC BID OPENING WILL ALSO BE HANDLED THROUGH REMOTE MEANS VIA A TELECONFERENCE LINE. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000.00. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about April 30, 2020. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.
