Description of Requirement: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Pacific has a requirement for the procurement and delivery of CLASS VIII, Medical supplies, materials and equipment items in support of United States Naval Hospital (USNH), located in Okinawa, Japan. The Contractor shall provide SARS Covid testing reagents and consumables specifically targeted for COVID 19 tests. The contractor shall deliver the required reagents and consumables to the USNHO Laboratory Dept. in accordance with the Delivery Schedule in this contract. Period of Performance: The anticipated period of performance shall be for a period of 12 consecutive months, commencing on 01 Jul 2021 and extending through 30 Jun 2022 with one (1) additional ordering option ending on 30 Jun 2023. Place of Performance: The work to be performed and/or supplies to be delivered under this contract shall be at the designated delivery location. The primary delivery location is as follows: United States Naval Hospital (USNH) Okinawa Laboratory Department Camp Foster, Building 960, Tarawa Rd. Ginowan City Okinawa, Japan 901-2221 Point of Contact (POC): Mr. Minoru Oshiro Telephone; 098-971-7418 Medical Supply Specification Requirements: The requested reagents and consumables are used in the two main types of detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), also identified as Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) detects bits of the virus in the nose and throat where it may be growing or may have been transmitted from the lungs. The assay used to detect the virus’ genetic material, ribonucleic acid (RNA), is made up of nucleic acids. The requested reagents and consumables are also used in the more advanced method to detect immune proteins known as antibodies which are the human body’s response to infections. This is accomplished thru a blood test, also known as serology test, by separating the serum when the clotting proteins and cells have been removed from blood. Packing/Labeling/Packaging: All packing, labeling and packaging shall be completed in accordance with standard commercial practices. All supplies shall be delivered in compliance with all manufacturer packaging and marking requirements for domestic shipment and protected in a manner to prevent deterioration or damage during shipment from the manufacturer to the final destination. Each shipment shall maintain a single lot number for each type of reagent throughout the life of the contract. All reagents and consumables shall be delivered in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) temperature requirements. All items provided under this contract, shall be delivered with a minimum of a six (6)-month shelf life upon receipt of delivery to the USNH, located in Okinawa, Japan.
