Supply or Service: Supply Commercial or Non-Commercial: Commercial Subject requirement will task the contractor to remove existing, fit, and install new (4 each) Transparent Armored Windows (TAWs) located in Pilot House and (3 each) TAWs located in two different located aboard the USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19). Contractor shall template, weld fill, and drill new bolt holes in ship's superstructure to fit each new TAW. Remove existing and install new associated window heater assemblies, heat controllers, and window wiper blades. Accomplish a water hose test of each new TAW installed. Accomplish an operational test of each installed window heater, window wiper, and temperature controller. It is critical to note that these TAWs are proprietary to K&C Inc. They were designed specifically for LPD-class U.S. Navy vessels. Since their development, these TAWs are now available for various applications within the commercial marketplace, hence the commerciality determination. Subject requirement is currently scheduled for a Period of Performance (POP) of 01/22/24 – 03/01/24. This requirement’s NAICS code is 327215; FSC/PSC Code is J998. This requirement will be performed on site at Naval Station Norfolk. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
