The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award two sole source, Firm Fixed Price BOA orders to BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Systems (BAE), Greenlawn NY, for Mode 5 processing enhancement of the AN/APX-123A(V) Common Transponder (CXP) and of the AN/UPX-41(C) Digital Interrogator (DI). The Contractor shall incorporate Government- furnished algorithms into the CXP and DI, perform verification testing, and deliver an engineering build of updated Software/Firmware. BAE as the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the AN/APX-118/123/123A and the AN/UPX-41(C), is the only company with the requisite and unique knowledge, special skills, experience, facilities, manufacturing techniques, and technical data required to perform these efforts. This effort is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to the provisions of FAR 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible Source”.
