The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for the production of the Remote Controlled Aircraft Positioner (RCAP). The RCAP shall be a remote controlled, battery powered system. With a low profile design that will allow the RCAP operator to capture, lock down and lift the Nose Landing Gear (NLG) for movement of Fighter and Trainer type aircraft. AF maintenance personnel shall not have to go under the fuselage to complete The RCAP acquisition is a MIL-SPEC requirement that must meet the characteristics spelled out in the Requirements Correlation Matrix (RCM). The acquisition strategy for this effort is to award a five-year contract (basic plus four option years) and will continue through FY28. The USG plans to procure 30 systems per year.
