Performance Requirements For: Vehicle Make: Freightliner Vehicle Model: M2 Vehicle Year: 2008 VIN #: 1FVHCBS39HAD3079 Manufacturer: Altec Model No: AM900-E100 Serial No: 0708-Z0581 Rated Capacity: 700 Lbs. The leveling system maintains the platform parallel to the turntable throughout the range of the boom movement. The leveling system connects to the upper boom tip pin. As the leveling system moves in relation to the booms, the upper boom tip pin is rotated, and the platform moves accordingly. Platform leveling is accomplished through a mechanical system of cables and fiberglass rods. A properly adjusted and maintained leveling system operates automatically and requires no action by the operator. The leveling cables are 1 /2? in diameter. In the insulating section of the upper and lower booms, the leveling cable is connected to a 3 /4? fiberglass insulator rod to preserve the dielectric integrity of the insulating components. Threaded end terminals on the leveling cables are mechanically swaged onto the wire rope. Turnbuckles are provided in the upper boom and in the lower boom for proper adjustment for the entire leveling system. Leveling cables and insulator rods are thoroughly tested before they are installed in the unit. leveling cable must be replaced at least every 8 years or 8,000 hours, whichever comes first *leveling cable — the wire rope portion of a mechanical leveling system that passes over the sheaves The objective is to have certified technician to perform the cable replacement and load certification to ensure personnel in the bucket platform during operation are safe and within original equipment manufacturer specification. Leveling cables must be replaced in accordance with the tech manual interval and serviced by a certified technician or death, serious injury can result from improperly maintained leveling system. Proper tension in the leveling system is very important. The procedures for installation, maintenance, inspection, and adjustment are covered in the Maintenance Manual. The cables should be lubricated and inspected at the interval recommended in the Preventive Maintenance, load tested and provide certification after replacement and Inspection and must be done by authorized technician.
