Must provide turn-key machine with Training, IUID, Tooling, and Installation. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. Submission Instructions: Interested parties should submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice by December 27, 2023 NLT 04:00 pm EST. All responses under this Sources Sought Notice must be emailed to Ashley.Saunders@dla.mil. Responses should be not exceed ten (10) one-sided 8.5 x 10 inch pages with a font that is no smaller than 10 point as this is not a request for a proposal but only a request for submission of a vendor's capability to perform this requirement. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions. DLA Aviation intends to issue an award for (1) Universal OD and ID Grinding Machine, including installation, IUID Tags, Training, Rigging, and Shipping. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than the stated closing date/time. Place of performance is Feet Readiness Center East, Cherry Point, NC. Physical Characteristics: Our maximum allowable floor space at the facility is (L, W, H): 22-feet-7-inches x 16-feet-0-inches x 9-feet-0-inches. Does your machine fit within that space including all ancillary and peripheral equipment? Distance between centers must be 0-63 inches with traverse in the X direction of 13.5 inches and 65 inches along the Z Axis. Grinding length range needs to be 0-59 inches. Does your machine have these characteristics? The machine must be capable of handling a work piece weight of up to 600 pounds. Is your machine capable of supporting this weight? The machine must meet the size and capacity requirements on Table 3.4 of the SOW. Does your machine meet these specifics? Electrical system needs to conform to NFPA 79. What is your machine electrical system and does it conform to these standards? If it conforms to different standards what are they and how do they compare with the specified standards? Functional Characteristics: Machine needs to have axis of motion that are designated as follows: X axis – Grinding Wheelhead slide, Z Axis - Longitudinal table, B Axis – Wheelhead Swivel, C Axis. Are these axis motions available with your machine? Machine must include a Fanuc 31i CNC control incorporating all standard features. Is this controller available with your machine? The machine shall be provided with a CAM software as described in section 3.3.17.4 of the SOW. Is your machine compatible with these CAM software requirements? The Rotary B axis Wheelhead shall be arranged with a three spindle arrangement incorporating one (1) ID and two (2) OD spindles. Does your wheel head come in this arrangement? Performance Characteristics: The system shall have an automatic wheel balancing and gap control system for the OD wheels. Can your system perform this task? The alignment and accuracy tolerances of the offered machine must at a minimum be in accordance with DIN 8630. Can your machine meet these accuracy tolerances? The machine needs to be able to achieve the performance requirements outlined in Table 3.4 of the SOW. Does your machine meet these performance requirements?
